Why you should make your own trail nut mix!

While doing keto you have to be careful with hidden sugars or carbs that can be found in store-bought nut trail mixes. A lot of the Nut mixes in the stores are coated with sugar or have fruit in them and no one wants to pick out the dried fruit that you cant eat because it’s not low carb friendly.

I also don’t like hydrogenated/refined oils that they store bought nut mixes have. Store bought nut mixes usually roast their nuts in bad canola oils or vegetable oils. Which are one of the worst oils you can use, especially if roasting at high temperature in the oven?

Spicy Thai Nut Trail mix!

Grab all your spices and keto friendly oil. I used coconut oil but avocado oil would work too since its okay for high temperature roastings.

Mix all the ingredients together and grab your baking sheet. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper so the nuts don’t stick and parchment paper is just simply better for this recipe. Bake for 25-30 min at 275 degrees.

I also like to portion out the spicy Thai nut trail mix so I can just grab and go and have the right amount all portioned out. Plus its easier for me to track in myfitness pal. I can go crazy over nuts and this recipe will defiantly want you wanting more. I like to use the store bought portioned bags and keep one in my purse for a keto snack attack if I am not close to home

I use a 1/4 cup measuring cup as my portion size but you can make your bigger if need be.

Keto Spicy Nut Trail Mix
The Spicy Thai nut mix is so tasty and easy to make. My husband and I love this as snack so I made multiple batches because we are constantly snacking this trail mix them. It took about 5 min prep time and 20-30 min to bake. I highly recommend making this!

  1. Preheat the oven to 275 degrees.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together all ingredients except for the nuts and seeds…. once it’s combined well, add the nuts and seeds. Make sure they are coated well.
  3. Spread onto a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until toasted…. I like to stir them around about halfway through baking.
Recipe Notes

If you don't have the sauces (fish sauce and coconut aminos) I am sure it will still taste good.
