Bulletproof Coffee Recipe Effortless & Tasty Recipe

Butter in your coffee.. what what?? YUP you heard me right! this coffee is the best way to enjoy your morning cup. I have been drink Bulletproof coffee for over 2 years and I absolutely enjoy making it this way. Creamy flavor is just like any latte or cappuccino you would find at Starbucks or your locally fancy coffee spot.

I have been drinking it this way for so long that I totally forgot how I stumbled on it. I am women who is always looking into the latest health stuff. Usually I partake in the trend before it even becomes a trend. So I remember telling my friends and family about new love of making coffee this way. They would look at me like some foodie healthy weirdo lol!! Which I kind of am.

However once I break out my blender and blend away my recipe for them so they can taste coffee made the BULLETPROOF way they usually like it and are totally surprised by this coffee mixology.

So why should start to make my coffee the “Bulletproof way”?

First will start off with the fat loss benefits. If your looking to lose fat then this cup of bulletproof coffee will be your friend. You can replace this with your morning breakfast and your body will remain full till lunch time! I am sure you are thinking, “well if I want to lose fat why would I drink fat”? First thing in the morning your body is coming out of fasted state with low blood sugar, so if you feed your body carbs for breakfast then your going to spike your insulin aka blood sugar, therefore your body will use the carbs you just ate for fuel and not tap into you fat stores.

 

When you eat something with fat first thing in the morning your body never receives that spike of insulin and your blood sugar never rises so the only option your body has is to start to tap into the fat stores that you have in your body!! Now combine this with fasting and your metabolism is a roaring machine, but more on fasting later.

 

Moreover, lets talk about the types of fat you are using. You are not using bad fats. Grass fed butter and coconut oil or MCT oil are healthy sources of fat for your body.

Now lets dive into some fat ingredients knowledge.

Grass Fed Butter Benefits!

Grass fed butter comes from grass fed cows and grass fed cows are roaming around grazing the grass lands being happy cows. Happy cows equals healthy out puts of vitamins and nutrients in whatever it be, such as meat, milk, butter, cream, cheese, etc…

Butter from grass-fed happy cows gives a super healthy and balanced ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids. Which is way better and more nutrient dense then what comes from conventionally raised-non grass eating cows.  It is the same Omega 3 that you would get from fatty fish like tuna. In addition to great amounts of omega 3 you also get some vitamin K2, CLA, and a whole host of fat soluble vitamins, and over 400 other fatty acids.

Support Happy Cows

Now that you have some knowledge of grass fed butter. I also want to mention that I love to support pastured cows. I dislike the idea of buying my creamer from a conventional non grass fed cow because I know too much of what that poor cow/animal has to live through just so I can get some creamer in my coffee.

Trust me, I  wish I could buy all my meats and dairy’s from pastured animals. The truth is I cant because I have a household of 5 and our budget isn’t the biggest. I like to support farm raising over conventional whenever I can. Even if its something as small as buying my butter from a grass fed cow which makes me feel a little better.

Just imagine if we all did this.

A little change like this from each household can make a little impact and support the farms that raise’s these happy cows the way they should be raised. Which is eating grass, roaming around , and enjoying the sunny hillsides.

People often now a days have the belief that saturated fats are bad for you. If you haven’t heard about this belief being wrong then I high suggest you read the book called “EAT THE YOLKS”, by Liz Wolfe. Reading this book opened my eyes to a whole host of modern myths when it comes to saturated fat, so after reading this book I felt better about drinking my fatty bulletproof coffee.

Coconut oil has a ton of good healthy essential fat, in the form of fatty acids.  Like medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs). These unique fats include:

  • Caprylic acid
  • Lauric acid
  • Capric acid

These types of fats our bodies love and can digest relatively easy too. The fats get immediately processed by the liver making it bio available for energy burning as opposed to fat storing. Coconut nut oil is also naturally microbial. Capric acid and lauric acid in coconut oil make this a great source of antimicrobial agents.

These antimicobial agents can help the body fight off yeast infections. Coconut oil denatures the bacteria. Now isn’t this oil Amazing!

My next favorite bullet proof coffee ingrediant is MCT oil

 What is MCT Oil and how is this different then regular coconut oil? 

MCT oil has all the benefits as coconut oil including all the fat burning essential fatty acids and omega 3s . MCT oil is derived from coconut oil, however it is a much more concentrated source of coconut oil. MCTs, also called “MCFAs” for medium-chain fatty acids and saturated fats, but remember the saturated fats from these oils are healthy forms bcause they come from healthy sources of whole food.

The saturated fats in these oils are different then the saturated oils you see on packages foods at stores. Those fats are no bueno for your because they usually come from not so healthy man made sources like canola oil and vegetable, which are highly processed fats and offer NO BENEFITS to your body!

 

These Fats in MCT oil, coconut oil, and grass fed butter offer your body a healthy dose of good quality fats and nutrients for your body without all the toxins. This is why bulletproof coffee is so good for your body.

For Those on The keto Diet

MCT is better to use in your bullet proof coffee then regular coconut oil because MCT oil will help you get into ketosis faster.

Instead of being digested normally, MCTs skip the process, bypass your stomach and head staight into your small intestine, then to the liver. This is where all the magic happens by the liver. Here, they help make the ketones that will get you into ketosis faster. I dont know about you but this sounds like a fair enough trade!

My bullet proof coffee recipe is so easy to make. You will fall in love with the creamy texture, hint of sweetness, and the rich flavors of coffee. All these ingredients together make the perfect cup of coffee for your morning.

Instructions
  1. Brew your favorite coffee as you normally would.
  2. Once coffee is done brewing get out a high speed blender, such as a small ninja, or nutri bullet. Pour the coffee into the blender container.
  3. Now place the butter and coconut oil (or MCT oil) into the coffee, as well as the spices and stevia.
  4. Lastly start your blender and mix till you see the coffee turn into the a creamy brown color. Once done pour your coffee into your favorite coffee cup and enjoy!! You can top your coffee with more of your favorite spice or small cocoa nibs! Yum!!
Recipe Notes

I like to make my bullet proof coffee with a little less fat on my fasting days because I usually enjoy two cups of this delicious bullet proof coffee recipe. I basically just use a tsp of the Kerrygold butter and MCT oil .

However if your not planning to have 2 cups then keep the recipe the same as above.

What if your Vegan?

No problem then you can just trade out the grass fed butter for coconut oil, MCT oil, or even coconut butter.

This is one I have used if you choose to go the coconut butter route.

    Very interesting to read this. I don’t drink coffee… Yes, I might be that one person out there over the age of 35 who doesn’t. I can’t get over the smell. I do have coworkers who are addicted to the C, so I want to to share this one with them. I haven’t heard anyone talk about it.

    Not gonna happen in our house. I literally cannot stand coffee, even the smell of it just ugh. Hubby likes it but only drinks it if I’m out the house for a long while.

      No you don’t have to use it all. You can use regular or raw sugar but it even taste good with no sugar.

    It’s not that difficult to put together which is perfect if you’re in a rush to head out in the morning. I’ve never had butter in coffee before but when you think about the flavors, it does make sense!

    I have never added the butter but I have added the coconut oil. I enjoy the slightly nutty flavor and the fat gives the coffee a nice rich mouth feel.

    I keep hearing about bullet proof coffee and never knew what it actually is! Sounds good. As a newly found coffee lover, I like unsweetened iced coffee with a splash of whole milk to add creaminess. I wonder if this will be as yummy to me?! Definitely worth a shot!
